Northern Lights (129.000 ISK)

Tour Overview

Experience the magic of the Aurora Borealis on a private Northern Lights tour  from Vík, exploring the landscapes of South Iceland after dark.

The Northern Lights are one of Iceland’s most fascinating natural phenomena,  but seeing them requires the right combination of solar activity, clear skies and  favourable weather conditions.
Before departure, your guide will carefully check the latest weather forecasts,  cloud cover and aurora activity to determine the most promising locations for  the evening.

Unlike tours following a fixed route, our Northern Lights experience is entirely  flexible. Depending on the conditions, we may explore locations close to Vík or  travel further along the South Coast in search of clearer skies.

Travelling in a comfortable private 4×4 vehicle allows us to adjust our route  throughout the evening, reach dark locations away from artificial light and stop  whenever conditions look promising.
If the Northern Lights appear, we’ll find a safe place to stop, giving you time to  enjoy the display and take photographs without feeling rushed.

Throughout the evening, your guide will share interesting facts about the  Aurora Borealis, how it forms and what life is like in Iceland during the long  winter nights.

Because this is a private experience, the evening is dedicated entirely to your  group, with a maximum of six participants.

Although Northern Lights sightings can never be guaranteed, we use our local  knowledge and the latest forecasts to give you the best possible chance of  witnessing this remarkable natural phenomenon.
